David Dacks, artistic director

The Music Gallery is a centre for promoting and presenting innovation and experimentation in all forms of music, and for encouraging cross-pollination between genres, artistic disciplines and audiences. Established in 1976 by members of the Canadian Creative Music Collective (CCMC) as a not-for-profit, charitable artist-run centre, for the last 40 years, we have welcomed diverse audiences to explore and engage with cutting-edge music through approximately 50 concerts each season, as well as through outreach events, exhibitions, recordings, discussions, workshops and our growing online presence. The Music Gallery serves as an internationally-renowned centre for new music and the hub for creative music in Toronto and beyond. Artistic Director David Dacks arrived at the Music Gallery with over 25 years of experience working as a music programmer, journalist, broadcaster, and documentarian.
