Description

Le Vivier holds an open house during the Journées de la culture and offers workshops, concerts and meetings with artists. Come and find us!

Discovery workshops are offered for youngsters 3-6 years old and their families. You can invent a piece of music, create its score, explore electronic devices, make sounds with objects, or even create your own music with water.

During culture days you can also listen to works by today’s composers as they explore water or nature, like in the Geysers by Michel Frigon, Nuées by Terri Hron, or musical landscapes with the Sound of the Mountain ensemble.

It is also an opportunity to enjoy exchanges with performers and creators and get to the very heart of the works. You will discover unusual instruments such as the horn sax of Totem Contemporain played by the Quasar saxophone quartet or new ways of playing the cello and the double bass with the Novarumori Ensemble and its long coloured cords.

Two days to discover the world of new music in a fun and easy going way!

Workshops led by Emmanuelle Lizère and Sylvain Pohu

Waves, rivers, water drops and splashes invite themselves into music. It’s all about discovering these sounds by playing with instruments, sound objects and the voice, then transforming them with an electronic device. Create your own water music and then play it with your friends.

Registration for workshops is suggested. Contact us at 514-903-7794 info@levivier.ca
