Description

The Sixtrum percussion ensemble offers its young listeners a new work — musical islands to navigate and sound cabins where there are good places to hide.

Each of these modules contains objects, textures and soundmaking materials, that come alive and resonate under the children’s fingers. Rough or grainy, smooth or velvety, hot or cold, this archipelago in which they navigate produces different worlds of sound. Musicians punctuate the children’s discoveries with short musical pieces and improvisations while they interact with the budding musicians.
