In Extensio

In Extensio is an instrumental chamber ensemble of variable instrumentation formed around the nucleus of flutist MariÈve Lauzon, clarinetist Louise Campbell and percussionist Barah Héon-Morissette. Founded in 2005, the ensemble is named using the Latin phrase in extensio, which siginifies extension and elongation. As suggested by this phrase, In Extensio draws inspiration from creation of new works, variations and additions to ensemble instrumentation, and exploration of new sounds and concert formats. The ensemble mandate is thus to reach new and diverse audiences, renew the traditional concert hall and seek out new venues, and explore uses of technology and multidisciplinary practices.
